Remember 1995, when we used Netscape and mIRC? Or maybe when we never paid for software or music because we used Napster or BitTorrent to get it for free?I do.But I also receive a reminder about this mentality on nearly a weekly basis when people all over the world use my images without my permission or necessary payment for the image usage. It’s not nice. There are just two things you need to know, it’s quite simple:1. Personal, non-commercial use = YESSee, I’m quite happy when people share my work.Sharing is caring. Please feel free to share the shit out of this website (or any of my other works, wherever they are) - if my work inspires you enough to do that, I’m humbled and I thank you!My only request will be to keep the links / credits intact (‘Photo by Ben Hopper’ etc) so people can track me as the creator when necessary.2. Commercial use without permission / payment for image usage = NOThis is when someone is making money while using my work this way or another.Good case scenario: You end up being charged about 3 times the original amount I’d charge you if you asked.Worse case scenario: I file a lawsuit and you end up hating me for years while paying me absurd amounts of money.Yes, I might never find out - but luckily - there are enough nice people out there who notify me every time someone uses my images. Be it a Chinese fashion website or a nightclub in south of Spain.I will look for you, I will find you and I will …make you pay a lot of money #jewishartistThat said, if you want to use any of photos for anything - please feel free to contact me so we can work something out. Also, if you find one of my images online and it looks a bit fishy, please get in touch and let me know - I will REALLY appreciate it.Ben.Below you can find additional copyright stuff.
